General Repairs and Renovations was established in 1991 by Michael and George Jacques.

We have earned a great reputation over the years for excellent relations with our customers and for our high ethical standards (both with our customers and our suppliers). The secret is attention to detail combined with competitive and fair pricing.

Our slogan, as seen on our lawn signs and sweaters, is “Quality First”. This is a commitment that we take very seriously. For example, when the industry standard is to provide a 1 year limited warranty, we guarentee our work for a full 3 years.

Michael, who spent five(5) years in the military studying engineering and construction and 3 years at Algonquin College studying general construction, is our lead carpenter. Over the years, we have hand selected a very few highly skilled tradesmen who demonstrate the same commitment to quality as Michael and George.

We are proud to be members in good standing with the The Greater Ottawa Home Builders Association, The Renovators Council, The Ontario Home Builders Association, the Canadian Home Builders Association and Renomark.

In 2007 we made the honor role at the Better Business Bureau for zero complaints in 2007!

In 2003 we were a finalist for the Better Business Bureau Torch Award and in 2006 General Repairs and Renovations won the this Award. The Torch Award award is presented anually to companies that are recognized as having the highest degree of business ethics in the work place.
